Privacy Policy

We built this app to make trip planning easier, not to collect your data. Here's exactly what we store and why.

If you're a trip owner

When you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password — the hash is a one-way scramble we can't reverse, so we never actually know your password. Your email is used to log in, and that's it.

You can optionally add a captain's name (a display name shown to your guests). You never have to.

We also store the trip details you create: title, description, dates, and the invite link. You can optionally add a boat name — useful for your guests, but not required.

When you're logged in, a session cookie keeps you authenticated so you don't have to log in on every page. It expires after 30 days of inactivity.

If you're a guest

We store your name when you RSVP or suggest a date. That's the minimum we need to show the host who's coming.

If you choose to add an email, we only use it to send you a link to reclaim your spot if you lose access — nothing else. No newsletters, no notifications, no surprises.

If you choose to add a password, it's one-way hashed — we can't reverse it and never see the actual value — and only used to verify it's you when you need to get back into your spot. It has nothing to do with any other account you have anywhere.

A cookie remembers which guest you are on each trip you join. It contains only a guest ID and lasts one year. No tracking across trips or across the web.

Everything you add beyond your name is optional. We only ask because it benefits you.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties. We don't use it for advertising. We don't send marketing emails.
